The hunger games are full on and millions are drawn to the story of an unlikely hero who becomes an icon social change and revolution.  The books and movie give rise to some really great questions and pull at the hearts of each one of us in some ways. 

We are going to take the next few weeks to look at themes in the hunger games an ask what they might have in store for us as people of faith.  In doing so we are going to be using the beatitudes found in the first part of Matthew 5 as a guide on the journey and in the conversation. 

Come and join in the fun as we @ MUMC talk about the Hunger Games and the Gospel. 

There is also our 4th and 5th grade youth group this weekend too for those who have younger friends. 

We are going to be partaking in our Easter kind of service this weekend.  We are going to journey through Palm Sunday, the upper room and the stillness of the cross.  Finally we are going to end with a word of hope and joy as we celebrate Easter morning together.  It is going to be a different kind of Fuel service and it will keep us on our toes. 

We are also going to have an egg cracking contest and some other fun things to get us ready for the Easter Bunny.

This past weekend we began our new teaching series called “ONE” and talked about how we are are made for one mission or purpose.  The goal is making God the foundation for everything else.  If we are of one mind in perusing God then amazing things can happen through us as individuals and as a church. 

WE also had some great fun running though the church playing games and rockin out at Fuel worship. 

This week is planet wisdom!!! Also there is confirmation class where we will be working on our stoles, ad youth group at the regular time where we will have some great fun and some learning too.  I am keeping it short and sweet this week.  here is a look ahead!!!

This past week we began our series that will take us up to Easter. 

Have you ever thought about how powerful it would be if we all gathered around one mission with one cause to make the world a better place?  That is what we are called to do and we are reminded of this in one of the final prayers of Jesus in John 17.  His prayer is that we are all of one mind.  As we are pulled in so many different directions, it is hard to imagine that we could all be called to do one thing.  But that is just it.  We are all made to make god that #1 priority.  If God is the foundation that everything else rests on then we can come together in ways that will change the world.  Having God as the foundation doesn’t mean that we will al be the same (dress the same, listen to the same music…) but is does mean that we would all be seeking the same goals. 

Come explore with us how we might live out the “ONE” thing that is most important and make an impact with our friends, family and school. 

This weekend is going to be more fun than shooting your friend in the face with Jell-o…oh wait that was last week.  Well, this week is going to be awesome too.  We are going to be continuing our love life series and we are going to start to make things a little bit more personal with relationship (guy/girl) questions. 

You can get a jump on some of the feedback by replying to this email with some questions you have.  We are going to be asking “what questions do you have about relationships and dating?”  Then in the next couple of weeks we will be addressing the questions.  depending on the questions we might break up the groups into High School and Middle School or guys and girls.  But send in your questions and we will get you some answers.  They can be questions your friends have too.  That is what is coming up this weekend and here is a look ahead.

This weekend is FUEL. 

I hope everyone enjoyed the GIANTS WINNING last week!! Now we are getting back into the pace of youth group with a new teaching series.  February is the month of love and we are going to be talking about relationships.  We will be talking about relationships with God and others and even we will touch on dating (no pun intended).  We also have confirmation this weekend as well.

Hey everyone. I am finally getting through this weeks email and clutter to bring you some info about this weekend and the weeks to come. 

But first a couple of points about last weekend.  On the 29th we had our first confirmation class where confirmands and sponsors met and we begin talking about…God (go figure).  It was good to see everyone there and to kick off the new confirmation year with a bang.  Then at youth group we talking about being imitators.  We spoke  about the way that we are called to show others love through our imitation of Christ’s love for us.  We also took a look at some really poor imitations through media (a clip of pirates of the Caribbean) and marketing (a happy meal box).  It was great conversation and a wonderful evening of dodgeball too. 

This week there is no confirmation or youth group because of the superbowl.  Have fun and eat a bunch of nachos.  We will get a poll up about what your fav. commercial was thought out the game.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year.  We have been away fro a couple of weeks and getting back into the groove has been hectic.  This Ignite is a little late but not forgotten.  This week at Youth group we are going to be kicking off a new series called imitators.   It is all about how we are called to be imitators of Christ in all that we do. 

It is also FUEL weekend.  So call up a friend and invite them to come for fun, worship and dinner.  I am excited to get back into the groove and connect and catch up on all of the things that are going on with you all.

Are you on the naughty or nice list this year?  This week we are not going to have youth group because it is Christmas day! I hope that you will be able to enjoy some time with friends and family this weekend.  Remember that we are going to be having only one Christmas day service this year on Sunday at 10am.

Also, I am going to try and post a video devotion on Christmas day that will go out and post on FB and lifeforceyouth.com.

Your assignment between now and the next time we meet is to find pictures of you with Santa and send them in.  We will play a little post Christmas guessing game with them at youth group.  The more terrified you look the better!!!!
