Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday March 27th we are going to be holding our annual Easter Hunt at MUMC. We will be having a time to present the Easter story, Hunting eggs for both younger and older kids, a brunch, and tons of fun. We are asking that you show up at 8am to help with the set up. We will need people to help with tables and chairs, hiding the eggs and a number of other things as well as cleaning up.

Toni, our family ministries coordinator is organizing this and you can contact her or send Chris an e-mail if you would like to help. It is always great if we know that you are coming to help. CONFIRMANDS you will be able to cont this time toward community service.

this is a great way to serve and have fun.

Homeless for a Night

Join us in the fight against hunger and homelessness.

We are raising awareness by becoming homeless for the evening of December 5th-6th. We will be meeting at church at 2pm on Saturday December 5th. Our time together will end after church on Sunday morning.

Throughout the afternoon we will be collecting food items for food banks from local neighborhoods, helping lead worship Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We will also have a time for a panel discussion and video on hunger hand homelessness from some of our church members with first hand experience. Our diet will consist of the bare essentials of rice and beans and oatmeal.

Workcamp 2009

Hey, Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?…give up….because he died. This is just one of the many “Awesome” jokes that came back from this years workcamp. We went to Darby, PA to fix houses, play games and show others the extravagant love God has for them.
There are so many stories to share and I can’t begin to try and tell them well. If you have a highlight you would like to share about your experience please feel free to chime in. Please add your “The best part of workcamp was…” stories here.

Saturday, April 25 morning in the Middletown Area
This is a county event and we will be cleaning up along the side of a safe road in the Middletown area. we will be provided with gloves, trash bags, etc. for cleanup. This is one for the whole family and can be a lot of fun. Our group will also be raising funds for Hospice Camp Jamie-a weekend camp for children age 6-14 who have recently had a loss and are grieving. Registration is $6-if registered by April 6, next Sunday-you will recieve a t-shirt. Pledge forms are available for you to ask family, friends, neighbors, etc. to contribute to this cause. A pizza lunch will be provided following the event.

We will be traveling to SERVV in New Windsor, MD where we will repackage items the warehouse receives from third world countries. They provide us with lunch. You may want to bring some money for the gift shop as you get a discount the day you work. We will be gone until late afternoon.
For 7th grade and up.

Summer Retreat theme needed

We need you to help pick the theme for the summer retreat this year. We are still hammering out when it will be, but what it will be is up to you.
The themes of the past have been tarzan and jane, shrek, wizard of oz, survivor…
Put on your thinking caps and come up with the best theme you can think of.

So I have been thinking about ways that we can have a more active online community here at our site. I have come up with a couple of ideas to go with that. Sayre has been pushing me to so more online (she is like our own webmaster). So here are some of the ideas that I have been working on that we might see soon tell me what you think.

Each week I will try to post a follow-up to the weekend’s lesson on Wednesday. Kind of like a mid week devotion.
Every couple of weeks we will have an article by a student.
We will make a form so that you can report God sightings that you have had through out the week. This way we can post, share at youth group/FUEL the ways that God is at work in and through our lives.
I have been working for about a week now to try and figure out how to get a better way of managing our pictures. I have a ton and need a better/safer way to post them so that we can have them available to you all.
FINALLY, if you see something that you would like to be posted please use this site to contact me or forward me a link so that I can get it into a post. It could be an article, picture or video that you thought was cool. Just let me know and i will get it up here.

Service Oppertunity: November 10

Hey everyone. You probably already know that Molly and Tori’s dad hurt himself a couple of weeks ago. He is still healing (the recovery will take a while), but in the mean time things still need to get done around the house and stuff. There is a church that is going to cut wood for them next Saturday (November 10) so that they can have fire wood.

To do our part in helping our church family we are going to be raking leaves. This will be a big help to the family (and less danger than me with a chainsaw).

You are invited to show up at the house (look in your directory or e-mail me for their address) beginning at 9:00. There will be food for lunch. All you need is to bring a rake and a warm heart (well I guess gloves would be a good idea for those of you who, like me, have dainty hands).
